Create an independent research paper.
Work with top researchers
The Lumiere Research Scholar Program helps students work one-on-one with a world-class scholar on an independent research project. At the end of the 12-week program, you'll develop an independent research paper that you could use for university admissions or future studies. The program was founded by a Harvard & Oxford PhD who met as undergraduates at Harvard.
The program is selective and has an application which you can find in the brochure below. To learn more, you can reach out to the partner success manager, Khushi Malde, at [email protected]education or go to lumiere-education.com.
The program has four cohorts that run through the year, summer (Jun-Aug), fall (Sept-Nov), winter (Dec-Feb) and spring (Mar-May).

Brain Health Alliance
Brain Health Alliance, a not-for-profit organization focused on biomedical computing for brain health and brain disorders, continues to accept applications from high school, college, and graduate students to participate in our 2021 Brain Health Alliance Virtual Institute:
https://www.bhavi.us/
https://www.bhavi.us/BhaviProgram/BHAVI2022
https://www.brainhealthalliance.org/BhaviProgram/Programs2022
As a virtual institute with programs that focus on software and computing and that conduct all meetings by televideo conferencing, BHAVI invites applications from students interested in Brain Imaging And Computing Sciences (BrainIACS), who are enthusiastic brainiacs and who may reside anywhere in the world but who must have access to high-speed internet connections and the ability to telecommute and teleconference for participation in the virtual institute programs.
BHAVI 2021 will be the 8th annual year of our program that we have been running since 2014. Our most successful high school student so far has been Teja Veeramacheneni who received $2000 as an STS Scholar and another $25,000 as an STS Finalist in the 2018 Science Talent Search. However, please note that Brain Health Alliance also offers annual prize awards for our own BHAVI students as described for the Mann Prize, Golub Prize, Keller Prize and Siegler Sisters Prize.
Students who participate in BHAVI are encouraged to learn how to pursue STEM research at a professional level with the goal of publishing research papers. A list of publications co-authored by our students can be found at
https://www.brainhealthalliance.org/BhaStemm/Papers
If you have any questions about our BHAVI 2021 or 2022 program, please do not hesitate to call Dr. Julie Neidich at 949-973-7714 or Dr. Carl Taswell at 949-481-3121.

Mattress Nerd has been paying attention to the many voices of students across the globe who have recently been calling for a change in our living habits and the way we consume and recycle.
They are working in an industry where new technology is being developed all of the time to ensure that mattresses will be longer-lasting and produced with more environmental materials, and we want to ensure that our readership understands the options available to them to be mindful with their mattress disposal.
They would love to hear from more students with a dedication to sustainability and conscientious buying so we can build on our own knowledge and be a contributor to offering an insight on how people can live more environmentally friendly.
The best essay will be awarded a $1000 scholarship for their contribution to this important cause. For more information and to apply, visit: https://www.mattressnerd.com/scholarship/.
Applications must be submitted by April 1st, annually.
Winners are selected and notified by email by April 6th.
