The Recreation Dept. is hiring Gate Guards, Lifeguards, Swim Instructors and Boating Instructors for the 2023 season. Apply now to be part of a cohesive and fun team. Lifeguards need no prior experience, and we will give you all the training required! Candidates without a current lifeguard certification can attend our Waterfront Lifeguard Training in June. 

As a high school student, you're probably juggling a lot of commitments this summer. Working at Wayland Town Beach is the perfect job if you need a certain amount of flexibility to fit in other things like playing sports, studying, taking part in an internship, volunteering, or spending time with your family. While working at Wayland Town Beach does involve routine work schedules and shifts, it also gives you some room to balance work with the rest of your life and activities. About the Camps: 

Camp Grossman offers children the opportunity to explore a wide variety of activities, including sports and adventure, arts, and swimming, and is located on the beautiful Hale Reservation in Dover. Camp staff may use free camp bus service from 30+ towns in the Greater Boston area, which makes getting to camp easy.  

Camp Kaleidoscope: offers a premiere camp experience to creative youth interested in the performing arts, visual arts, science, swimming and the outdoors. Kaleidoscope is located at the Leventhal-Sidman JCC in Newton. Busing is available from select towns. 

About the Job Opportunities:

A Wayland resident is looking for someone who can help them with IT technical issues, specifically GOOGLE.  They are familiar and comfortable with Outlook and Word, but their new position uses GOOGLE.  

Everything is new to this Wayland resident including Calendar, meeting up, the drive, sharing documents. etc… They have been trying to find instructions using YouTube and have been somewhat successful, but would like individualized personal instruction in areas that prove to be difficult or beyond their reach.  

This could be an ongoing on-call position beginning with one or two tutorial sessions and later involving on-the-spot sporadic questions.  A student who is patient and who has clear communication skills is a plus.  The resident is happy to work around your schedule.

The goal of the Library Aide is to upkeep and maintain high-levels of organization and tidiness in the Library by means of the following duties:


Returning Samples

  • Sort samples by type and by vendor
  • File samples in the proper location


Sales Reps

  • Provide preliminary direction to sales reps when they update (i.e. location of their product, hand out Guideline sheet)
  • List which sales rep needs to update/reduce their sample stock and keep a log or sign-up sheet for when they come in. This will be coordinated with interns and admin.


New Items

  • Display new items for one week at a time
  • Date items that will be added to the Library
  • Give rejected items to Sales Reps when they pick up


Other duties

  • Assist our Librarian as needed
  • Keep all bins and shelves tidy
  • Empty trash bins when full
  • Assist Designers if they need help finding items or returning unused items
  • Keep track of ongoing projects and who is working on them. Periodically check to see if ongoing items can be put away.

We design residential, church, school and sustainable architectural renovation & new construction projects in Eastern Massachusetts.  Check out our work at
Students may work from as little as 6 hours/week in the afternoon during the school year to 30 hours/week during the summer.  Tasks include sketching plans and elevations by hand, 3D modeling in Sketchup, website development, assembling Pinterest or Houzz boards, or physical color boards for projects.  Also includes site visits, measuring existing conditions, and attending client meetings occasionally.  Prefer students interested in Architecture, Engineering, Computer Science, or Art, and willing to learn and work with us for at least 1- 2 years. 
Wages start at minimum wage after some basic skills are learned and then increase dependent on abilities and progress.  We have a current student intern who is working for us now that you can discuss the job with, and they will help you with learning Sketchup and other skills over the summer.

Middlesex Saving Bank - Teller Positions Available

Middlesex Savings Bank had Teller positions available.

Their teller positions require students to be actively enrolled in school and are at least 16 years of age.

It is a plus if the students have had some cash handling and customer service experience but not necessary.

Middlesex Saving Bank provides training on the banking products, systems, procedures, customer service, and compliance. 


There are two options for teller roles:

1)    Seasonal Teller – which works only in the summer and winter break.  Position starts when school ends.

2)    Teller, part time – is a commitment of every Saturday from 8:30am to 12:30pm.  This is a permanent part time position.  The student has the ability to pick up additional days when they are available, if the branch has a staffing need.
