Hello, Sophomores! We look forward to wading into the Future Planning waters with you later this year. Sophomore Seminars will begin in mid-March, but here is a sneak peek for anyone interested.

During the first session of Sophomore Seminar, counselors will review some important Future Planning “To-Dos”. The second and third sessions will be a bit more interactive. We will help you log into your College Guidance Network and Naviance Student accounts and show you everything they offer. We will preview some of the college planning resources in those programs, too, but the focus of Sophomore Seminar will be on self-discovery and career exploration.

Before diving into those interactive lessons, we will lay out some Guiding Thoughts and Principles to help you frame your self-discovery and career exploration process. Then we will walk you through several skills, interests, and personality assessments that will give you a sense of who you are, what you are good at, and what you like (and then link you with potential majors and/or career pathways that might be a good fit). Finally, we will touch on some Other Career Exploration Resources that will come in handy as you plan for your future moving forward.
