WHS Friday Message

From Principal Allyson Mizoguchi

February 6, 2026
Each year, we build our master schedule from scratch largely based on student course requests. Although we just began second semester, planning is already underway for the scheduling process for the 2026-27 school year. For two weeks right after February vacation, teachers of 9th-11th graders will make ‘26-27 course recommendations for their current students, followed by a period of time when students can make elective requests. This process thrives on open communication among students, teachers, families, and counselors. We will hold two Extended Advisories, in late February and mid-March, to guide students through the process, and I will send messaging to families during the next few weeks – please stay tuned!

Second Quarter Grades

Grades from second quarter are now finalized in PowerSchool. To view and print report Q2 cards, click on “Student Reports” on the left-hand side of the main page in PowerSchool; then, click on “High School Report Card Q2.” We recommend that you save and/or print for your own records.

Reminder: “Conversations, Not Confrontations” Community Conversation

I once again want to draw attention to this four-session program that begins February 10 at the First Parish. Facilitated by educator and facilitator jamele adams, a dynamic professional and artist who works in schools and communities including Wayland, this series will “build your skills for engaging in conversations across differences.” I can attest to jamele’s powerful and inclusive approach to building connections among people and know that these sessions will be impactful. Enjoy the weekend!
